- Specification
- Product Description:
- Mouse monoclonal antibody raised against synthetic peptide of GYPA.
- Immunogen:
- A synthetic peptide corresponding to N-terminus of human GYPA.
- Host:
- Mouse
- Reactivity:
- Human
- Specificity:
- This antibody recognizes N-terminal portion of glycophorin A (and weakly ofglycophorin B). Its antigen is expressed on early erythroblasts, late erythroblasts, erythroblasts, mature erythrocytes and the cells of erythroid cell lines K-562 and HEL, but not on all other cells.
- Form:
- Liquid
- Concentration:
- 1 mg/mL
- Isotype:
- IgG2b
- Storage Buffer:
- In PBS, pH 7.4 (15 mM sodium azide)
- Storage Instruction:
- Store at 4°C. For long term storage store at -20°C.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Recommend Usage:
- Flow Cytometry: This HIR2 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood leukocytes and cell agglutination assay and can be used at approximately 0.1 mg per million cells.
The optimal working dilution should be determined by the end user.
- Note:
- This product contains sodium azide: a POISONOUS AND HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE which should be handled by trained staff only.

- Gene Summary:
- Glycophorins A (GYPA) and B (GYPB) are major sialoglycoproteins of the human erythrocyte membrane which bear the antigenic determinants for the MN and Ss blood groups. In addition to the M or N and S or s antigens that commonly occur in all populations, about 40 related variant phenotypes have been identified. These variants include all the variants of the Miltenberger complex and several isoforms of Sta, as well as Dantu, Sat, He, Mg, and deletion variants Ena, S-s-U- and Mk. Most of the variants are the result of gene recombinations between GYPA and GYPB. [provided by RefSeq
